After Covid-19, many countries, including those in South Asia, have struggled to regain economic growth, while Bangladesh has begun to recover. Although growth slowed during the pandemic, the economy’s underlying strength is now driving recovery. However, growth alone is not enough. Without inclusiveness, rising inequality and persistent poverty undermine the goal of building an egalitarian society envisioned during the Liberation War.
